ChargePoint Releases Next-Generation Software Platform to Manage Any EV Charging Operation, from Fleets to Employee Parking

Published on 16 Nov 2025 • 3 min read

ChargePoint has launched its next-generation software platform, enabling smarter EV charging management for fleets, commercial sites, and global operators with AI-driven optimisation, dynamic energy management, and enhanced driver experiences.

ChargePoint (NYSE: CHPT), a global leader in electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, has released a new generation of the ChargePoint Platform, a flexible software solution designed to redefine EV charging.

Re-engineered from the ground up, the ChargePoint Platform empowers operators to optimise any charging infrastructure, from a single site to a global network, while ensuring seamless integration with evolving energy systems.

“The new ChargePoint Platform is more than just modernised software, it is a catalyst for an electrified future,”

said Rick Wilmer, Chief Executive Officer at ChargePoint.

“ChargePoint has manifested our deep expertise in EV charging to deliver the industry’s most advanced software platform, which is complemented by a robust hardware integration to enable our customers to accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility, regardless of what charger models they are operating in the field.”

The ChargePoint Platform was developed for leading fleet operators, commercial customers, vehicle OEMs, charge point operators (CPOs), and energy providers. Early adopters have already deployed the ChargePoint Platform in diverse environments, from urban transit depots to highway charging corridors, ensuring its flexibility and performance in real-world scenarios.

“Our ability to run a sustainable EV charging operation has been significantly enhanced by the new ChargePoint Platform. The new AI-driven optimisation, seamless station activation, and real-time insights have made managing our network even easier and smarter,”

said Paul Hodgkiss, Head of IT & Facilities at Kärcher UK.

“We’re now able to enhance the tracking against our sustainability goals, maximise charger utilisation, have great visibility of usage, and deliver a consistently great experience to our fleet drivers and employees – all from one intuitive interface.”

ChargePoint Platform Highlights: Intelligence and Integration

  • AI-Driven Optimisation: Leverages advanced artificial intelligence to analyse usage patterns, energy conditions, station health and vehicle context. Optimises charging schedules, predicts maintenance needs, enables dynamic pricing, and enhances driver experience.

  • Maximise Charging Station Utilisation with Waitlist: Waitlist manages EV charging demand with virtual queues, notifies drivers when stations free up, and reduces congestion to maximise infrastructure value.

  • Frictionless Station Activation: Integrated with ChargePoint’s Installer App for rapid, reliable station onboarding across multi-site deployments.

  • Intelligent Monitoring and Control: Offers dashboards, scheduled reporting, and AI-powered data assistance to track performance, troubleshoot issues, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Dynamic Energy Management: Balances energy use with real-time load balancing, demand response, renewable integration, and utility pricing signals to minimise infrastructure and energy costs.

  • Smarter Pricing: Real-time flexible pricing based on demand, energy costs, and business goals with transparent, explainable adjustments.

  • Driver Experience Optimisation: Advanced analytics and issue detection allow proactive management of driver experiences and loyalty.

  • Tailored Software Packages: Available as CMS Suite (turn-key features) or CMS Studio (fully customisable modules).

  • Manage Any Charger: Supports plug-and-play management of all OCPP-compliant chargers, regardless of make or model.

  • Scalable, Modular and Secure Cloud Architecture: Cloud-native, resilient, and secure with end-to-end encryption and continuous monitoring.

All-New User Interface:

  • Personalised dashboards

  • Real-time insights with interactive graphics

  • Simplified workflows with one-click actions

Renault Trucks Targets the 6x2 Majority

The UK's 6x2 articulated tractor dominates long-haul freight – and the industry's emissions. In 2024, articulated trucks lifted 998 million tonnes of goods in Great Britain, 63% of the total. Now Renault Trucks is extending its E-Tech range into this core segment with new 6x2 e-axle models offering up to 600km of range and megawatt charging capability. We spoke to Roger Clarke, Renault Trucks' Head of Electromobility and Advanced Customer Solutions, about what this means for real-world operations.
