Labcraft SceneLite enhances trailer loading safety at Road Transport Expo

Published on 14 Jul 2025 • 2 min read

Labcraft, a leading UK-based designer and manufacturer of innovative LED lighting solutions, showcased its SceneLite SI9 high-performance lighting unit at this year’s Road Transport Expo.

The SceneLite SI9 was mounted on the upper rear frame of a 13.6m temperature-controlled trailer—supplied by one of Europe’s leading trailer manufacturers—demonstrating its ability to significantly improve visibility and safety during loading and unloading, particularly in low-light or nighttime conditions.

Engineered to deliver exceptional performance, the SceneLite SI9 produces an impressive 852 lumens of clean, white light, providing over 490 lux at 1 metre. This ensures excellent visibility both inside and around the trailer, significantly improving safety for operators during ground-level and tail-lift access tasks.

Thanks to its low power consumption of just 6W, the SceneLite provides high-intensity illumination without putting strain on the vehicle’s electrical system. Built with a solid aluminium base, the unit maintains optimum thermal management to extend LED lifespan and preserve consistent light output.

Measuring only 27mm deep, the SceneLite features a slim, low-profile design that allows seamless installation without causing obstruction. While ideal for trailer applications, the versatile lighting solution is also perfectly suited for tail-lift lighting, rescue vehicles, utility vans, and 4x4s, delivering a wide beam of bright, reliable illumination wherever it’s needed.

Engineered to perform in the harshest conditions, the SceneLite is waterproof to IP67, providing dependable protection against severe weather and pressure washing. Plus, being certified to ECE R10 (E11 10R-057639), it meets rigorous industry standards for electromagnetic compatibility and safety.

Labcraft’s commitment to quality is further reinforced by its three-year manufacturer’s warranty, and all lights are designed and tested at the company’s ISO9001/14001-accredited production facility.

Now Renault Trucks is extending its E-Tech range into this core segment with new 6x2 e-axle models offering up to 600km of range and megawatt charging capability. We spoke to Roger Clarke, Renault Trucks' Head of Electromobility and Advanced Customer Solutions, about what this means for real-world operations.
