Yutong TE7 Electric Truck Now Eligible for Plug-in Truck Grant

Published on 03 Nov 2025 • 1 min read

Pelican Electric Trucks is delighted to announce that the Yutong TE7 7.5-tonne electric truck has been officially approved for the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) Plug-in Truck Grant scheme

This approval means that customers purchasing the Yutong TE7 can now benefit from a 20% saving, up to £16,000 on the vehicle purchase price, making the transition to zero emission transport even more accessible and cost-effective.

The grant is designed to support operators in switching to cleaner, greener vehicles by reducing upfront costs of electric trucks.

David Watts said,

“With a class leading range of up to 180 miles, the Yutong TE7 is already the most capable electric truck in the 7.5-tonne sector. Approval for the plug-in truck grant is an important milestone for the Yutong TE7,removing a potential cost barrier, making it easier for businesses to take advantage of the benefits of zero-emission transport.”

The Yutong TE7, distributed exclusively by Pelican Electric Trucks, combines proven technology, a class-leading range with exceptional build quality and driver comfort. It’s powered by the same advanced electric platform used in over 1,000 Yutong electric buses and coaches currently operating across the UK – vehicles renowned for their reliability and efficiency.
