First All-Electric Volvo FM Low Entry Hits the Road in Ireland
Egis Lagan Services has taken delivery of Ireland’s first all-electric Volvo FM Low Entry, a zero-emission truck designed for motorway maintenance with near-silent running and outstanding visibility.

Motorway maintenance business Egis Lagan Services has taken delivery of the first Volvo FM Low Entry truck to go into service in Ireland.

The zero tailpipe-emission battery electric FM Low Entry combines near-silent running with excellent visibility for the driver, thanks to a five-star Direct Vision Standard rating.

Egis Lagan Services will use the new truck as an impact protection vehicle as part of its contract with Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) to carry out maintenance work on the M8.

Peter Csabai, Winter Service & Maintenance Manager, Egis Lagan Services, says:

“Over the past few years we have been looking at an increasing number of alternative fuel vehicles to meet the company’s aim of reducing transport-related emissions, and this is the latest part of that project.”
