Thermo King Launches TX-Series: New High Performance and Fuel Efficient Truck Units

Published on 25 Sept 2025 • 3 min read

Thermo King has launched its new TX-Series truck refrigeration units, delivering up to 17% higher cooling capacity, 7% better fuel efficiency, and reduced environmental impact for fleets across EMEA.

Thermo King®, a leader in transport temperature control solutions and a brand of Trane Technologies, has introduced the TX-Series, a new range of refrigeration units for small and large trucks.

Designed for both single- and multi-temperature applications, the TX-Series offers balanced system efficiency, fuel consumption and performance for both fresh and frozen applications. The TX-Series replaces Thermo King’s T-Series models and has been field-tested to perform in all ambient temperatures, including the harshest of conditions, from low ambient up to 55°C.

Designed to meet the practical needs of today’s fleet operators, Thermo King’s TX-Series offers easy and hassle-free operation thanks to intuitive in-cab controllers. Connectivity and monitoring tools help operators maintain optimum performance with maximum efficiency. The Whisper option significantly reduces noise levels for quiet operation in sensitive residential delivery areas, while the Whisper™ Pro models are PIEK certified under the most stringent noise testing conditions.

“The new TX-Series represents the next generation of self-powered refrigeration units and focuses on performance, reliability and ease of use and service, combined with increased fuel efficiency,”

said Davide Previsdomini, Product Manager SP Truck at Thermo King EMEA.

“The TX-Series is a portfolio that delivers results in the real world, whether you’re operating in city centres or harsh cold and hot climates. Developed based on ‘must-have’ criteria from our customers, the units can handle demanding conditions, operate quietly, be easy to work with and help our customers deliver, all with lower lifecycle costs.”

Key Features and Benefits of the TX-Series

  • New refrigerant coils and piping reduce the refrigerant charge and global warming potential (GWP) by up to 21%.

Optimised Fuel Efficiency

  • Up to 7% better fuel efficiency compared to the T-Series.

Biofuel Compatibility

  • All TX-Series models are compatible with HVO biodiesel as standard.

  • Option available for B100 biofuel (EN-14214) with no impact on service intervals.

  • Running on biofuels can reduce carbon emissions by up to 90% and particulates by 78%.
